Below are links to several of the stories that I wrote while I worked for The Daily Texan during the spring of 2011. While there, I covered a variety of different stories, such as campus events, speaker series, symposiums and many more.
For this story, I covered the Ride 2 Recovery, a race designed to help rehabilitate wounded veterans both physically and emotionally. Many of them ride on bikes tailored to fit their needs. I really enjoyed covering this story because it was quite inspiring to see many of these veterans pushing themselves to participate in the race despite many of their extensive wounds.

Below is a series of stories covering a symposium that spanned over several months that celebrated the legacy of Heman Sweatt, the first Black student admitted to the UT School of Law. The symposium was interesting because it taught me many interesting things about UT and its past.

Talk explores UT's path to integration
The following story was a talk by a man who was exonerated for a murder he did not commit and the lawyer and organization that helped free him and his co-defendant. It was an extremely important one for me to cover, as it opened my eyes to the work of the Actual Innocence Clinic, for whom I now help research cases for prison inmates claiming wrongful conviction.

This story actually had me covering the voter ID bill that caused so much controversy in Texas. I enjoyed covering it because I was able to better understand how the bill would impact Texans through the testimony that I heard from senators and members of Congress.
Along party lines senate advances voter ID bill
The following story was memorable because it opened my eyes to what kinds of services were available to students at UT who desperately needed stress relief. It was just an extremely enjoyable story to cover.
